To enhance financial decision making by developing and implementing financial accounting and reporting systems that provide accurate and current information for all regular and donor funded projects. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all assigned reports submitted from city offices and funded by donors, considering accuracy of information, supporting documentation and compliance of expenses with the budget and donor regulations.
  • Follows up with field office staff on errors or unallowable expenses.
  • Prepares journal entries for field office expenses into commission’s General Ledger for review by the Finance Officers and approval by the Controller.

  • Notifies the Controller of significant problems such as significant variance with the approved budget, cost share issues, or unallowable costs.
  •  Prepares billings to donors based on financial reports submitted from city offices in a timely manner and in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Follows up with donors on questions or problems regarding invoices; and Provides guidance to accountants as needed.
  • Assists with project related inquiries for the annual audit and works with the Junior Accountants and Coordinator to prepare schedules and respond to questions. 
  • Keep oneself up to-date with donor requirements and regulations.
  • Reconcile monthly VAT and other taxes and forward to Accountants for payment.
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required.
  • Perform tasks assigned by coordinator, Finance and Budget

Purpose of the Job:

Purpose of the Job:

To design and facilitate trainings on transitional justice using appropriate tools, by conducting needs assessment and developing training materials based on EHRC standards within the set schedule (timeline). 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, review educational materials including lesson plans, online courses, manuals, and other educational resources focused on transitional justice. 
  • Engage in the development of data collection tools required to conduct research and needs assessment for transitional justice trainings. 
  • Conduct research and needs assessment using appropriate tools that will be developed for this project, write research and assessment reports.
  • Design, develop, review educational materials including lesson plans, online courses, manuals, and other educational resources focused on transitional justice for different stakeholders including state bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and religious and community leaders ensuring that research and needs assessment findings inform the development of the transitional justice training materials. 
  • Develop promotional, advocacy and awareness raising materials on transitional justice.
  • Conduct research and identify means to deliver transitional justice trainings including organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. 
  • Deliver transitional justice trainings for identified groups using the developed materials and resources, and within the contract period.   
  • Implement relevant tools, methodologies, and materials prepared by HRED’s curriculum design & material development team. 
  • Work closely with HRED’s training needs assessment, curriculum design & material development, and human rights education delivery teams to improve the content development project work and ensure that the required quality standards are met. 
  • Collaborate with and report to the Office of the Chief Commissioner (OCC) throughout the entire process of designing and implementing trainings on transitional justice, including research and needs assessment, material development, and training delivery.
  • Participate in relevant working group/committee and staff meetings.
  • Submit regular reports on the progress of deliverables to the reporting manager and other relevant staff.
  • Conduct summative evaluation and prepare training proceedings or reports following trainings.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the directors.

To support the office of the chief commissioner  on transitional justice (TJ), particularly in capacity building activities, monitoring work, support to victims, research, and advocacy and sensitization to ensure that the TJ process is human rights compliant, inclusive, participatory, and victim-centered. 



Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Support EHRC in the execution of its work and mandate on TJ;
  • Assist in monitoring implementation of the TJ process and in documentation and reporting;
  • Support EHRC’s work to ensure a victim-centered TJ process including documenting victims' needs, concerns, and priorities to ensure it is reflected in the TJ process; 
  • Conduct research and draft reports on various areas as required;
  • Provide program and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the department;
  • Draft concept notes and agendas for meetings, prepare briefing material and presentations as needed to support the Director and the team;
